Untitled Poem by Todd-Earl Rhodes

utter aloneness
         snowflake on gnome’s nose

__________________________________________________________________________

I picked this poem because when I read it I thought it was the cutest poem ever. Luckily it fit with my theme of seasons and I could add it to my blog. The snow flake makes the poem, for me, fall into the season of winter. I was surprised to find that this poem is a modern haiku, even though it only has two lines.  I love the image that you get when you read this poem.

Poetic Devices
assonance - utter aloneness
imagery - whole poem

  1. That's a very interesting poetry form. It's my first time reading a two-lined, unrhymed haiku. As much as I question its validity as a haiku, it does create a strikingly powerful image in the reader's head.
