Springtime

Summer is just around the bend
Puddles pool on every sidewalk
Rainy mist hits your face
It's sunny and bright but
Never warm enough to not wear a jacket
Growing plants are blossoming
The sweet smell fills the air
Intense blue skies match the fresh green grass and pink trees
Much of the month is spent with grey skies though
Each day get a little warmer, getting ready for summer

This is an acrostic poem I wrote for one of the spring months. This acrostic poem usually has and idea per letter but sometimes one idea over laps into two letter. The main idea in this poem is mostly how spring is warming up for summer which is just around the bend. My favorite color combinations are found in spring time and that is the pink of the blossoms, the green of the grass and the blue of the sky. I like these colors so much I painted my room like that. This poem ties in with my theme of seasons because it is about the season of spring.

Poetic Devices
alliteration - puddles pool, green grass, sweet smell
assonance - mist hits
imagery - fresh green grass and pink trees
