There once was a snowman in may
Who was afraid he would melt away
Little did he know
He was not made of snow
But rather of painted white clay

I wrote this limerick for the month may. I had a hard time deciding to use it for the month of may or a winter month, because it talks about a snowman. I really like limericks because they are cute and funny, they have a simple rhyme scheme but I found it a little more difficult to make it flow. This poem fits in with my theme of seasons because it is about a snowman in may, which is the season of spring.
Poetic Devices
rhyme scheme - aabba
imagery - painted white clay
Cute limerick! I enjoyed the story and the twist at the end. Kind of reminded me of Frosty the Snowman. Very clever!
ReplyDeleteZoe WOAH! this is such a well written, funny, cute limerick! I can tell that you put alot of time. The flow of this poem is really great. Very professional
ReplyDeleteno one makes snowmen out of clay, that would be a clayman...also line 3 is a wee bit short, so that interrupted my reading a tad, anyhooo i actually enjoyed this poem despite all of its inconsistencies (yes i spelled that right) cheers
ReplyDeletesteven, have you never heard of a ceramic figurine?
